Last year AstraZeneca and Harteraad embarked on a partnership to help improve the patient experience for those with heart failure in the Netherlands. Together they wanted to pinpoint opportunities for care improvement. So, they set out to gain a deep understanding of the current acute and chronic care patient pathways.

Harteraad was a natural partner for AstraZeneca as their mission aligns perfectly with its patient-centric strategy. Harteraad focuses on helping people with cardiovascular disease and their loved ones with practical, social and emotional support. The patient association represents 1.7 million people in the Netherlands and serves their interest with government, scientific research, insurers and healthcare professionals.

AstraZeneca and Harteraad engaged SKIM to conduct the patient research. SKIM’s healthcare experts are well-versed in patient research and cardiovascular disease. The goal was to uncover opportunities to improve patient communications and support strategies. SKIM mapped the patient journey and explored the health information behavior of patients living with the disease and delivered the following actionable insights: 

  • Patient’s emotional journey
  • Patient experience with healthcare and HCPs
  • Patient’s health information needs at different moments along their journey

The insights now serve as a compass, directing the creation of materials and services for these patients.

In her time at SKIM, Elizabeth has advanced to Senior Manager, and has worked extensively in the eCommerce space and specializes in strategic and custom mixed-methodology projects, including decision journey mapping. She enjoys sharing her expertise and partnering with clients in the durables, consumer packaged goods, and technology industries in the Midwest. Most recently, Elizabeth presented on decision journeys with KitchenAid at the Corporate Researchers Conference this past November.

According to Greenbook, over 250 submissions were received from insights professionals worldwide. Each honoree is still in the first decade of their work in insights, but all are on their way to having a lasting impact on the field’s direction. These leaders were nominated by peers and hand-selected by a team of twelve highly recognizable professionals. 

Elizabeth is the third SKIMmer to be honored amongst this list recognizing the next generation of insights leaders. Julia Görnandt, Berlin office Director, and Remy Thim, VP and our Atlanta Location Manager, were named to the Greenbook Future List in 2021 and 2019, respectively.

We are proud to announce that SKIMmers Kristy Ward and Jessica Huddleston have been named to the Significant Insights Global 30 Under 30 List of emerging leaders for 2023. Kristy, a Senior Research Manager, is based out of the Atlanta office, and serves as the US Brand Communications Lead. Jessica is a Market Research Manager in the company’s San Francisco office, and partners with global clients on brand communications research.  

This list acknowledges the next generation of rising stars in the market research industry, celebrating them for their contributions and talents.

October 19, 2023 Hoboken, NJ – SKIM, insights-based consultancy, has named Jeff Haselum as Managing Director, US.  Based in the New York City area, Jeff will be responsible for driving SKIM’s continued US growth and innovation strategy, building on SKIM’s recognition as one of Greenbook’s 2023 Top 3 Most Innovative Insights Agencies. He will lead SKIM’s operations, analytics and client partnership strategy across one of the company’s largest markets.  

Jeff Haselum

With more than two decades of insights experience, Jeff is passionate about creating strong client relationships, delivering internal and external excellence, and uncovering untapped opportunities. Throughout his career, he has held senior research roles, partnering with some of the world’s leading brands, such as Haleon, PepsiCo, Philips, Samsung, L’Oreal, and more. Most recently, he served as the Senior Vice President and Head of the New York office of Behaviorally, a market research firm specializing in shopper marketing. 

“Jeff’s dynamic and collaborative leadership style makes him perfectly suited for this role and we are thrilled to welcome him to SKIM. With an eye for creativity and a laser focus on client partnerships, Jeff is sure to have a positive impact on SKIMmers and our clients alike.”
